ok so while doing an inspection on my bike I noticed some vertical play on my clutch lever. upon further inspection I foud it was due to a break underneath the lever on the master cylinder housing (circled in red below). I would rather not replace the entire unit if I can get just the piece circled in yellow but I don't see a part number for just it? also can I get by until that part comes in with just some JB weld?
here is a picture of the actual damage
The body of the cylinder is not available separately. Pretty sure all the VN1500 clutch cylinders are the same. There are a few on eBay...You should not rely on JB weld, but rather REAL welding to fix this part, but you will then need a $40 kit to rebuild it, since the heat will destroy the rubber parts...
like i said its more of a band-aid than a fix.... so can anyone recomend an aftermarket replacement that wont take away from the vintage look?
ok found one for $50 including shipping only obvious issue is the bent clutch lever. I will just use my good lever and be happy it didn't cost me 200+
good for you....
