Title: Chrome engine covers
Post by: Lurch on August 21, 2013, 18:08:41 PM
I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'm just not quite clear on it. And having to ship part all the way from the US; there's no returning them.
So..

Pinwheel Wreckers in the States have (what I think) are the parts I need/want.

Was chatting to MakDrifter the other day and he mentioned something about having to change the Stator as well to make the cover fit?

Mak has a sweet ride, Lurch. Real sweet. His bike is one of the many inspirations I draw from when I design how I'd like my bike to look. Especially the engine covers. My covers look like the ones your buying on eBay. I wonder where he got his from? Even the inside of the inside engine cover is chromed. Mine is black plastic.

Pete - completely agree. Mak knows hoe much I like the yellow one. (Probably because of the drooling that kicks in as soon as I walk into his garage). Havent seen the white one yet because its still in a crate - LOL
The two main reason I want to do this is a) well, theyre chrome :) , and b) I really find the cover missing over the clutch slave cylinder and drive housing pretty ugly. It really looks like there is something missing IMHO.
