I recently purchased and installed the Scootworks saddlebag mounts for the 800 Drifter. While at it, I made a quick video in case anyone wants to have some live pictures of what they look like on the bike:
Please note: English is *not* my first language, so please bare with me. I think I make myself understood, but I don't always know the right words for the mechanical parts and such...
There are a few things I forgot to mention in the video btw: the mounts, even semi-detached, will cover up the triangular maintenance hatch on both sides. This is a bad thing. The quality of the mounts however, is top notch. They're not cheap, but when you get to unpack them and feel them around for yourself, you'll understand why. The craftsmanship is superb.

Very good and easy to understand. Now you just need to finish it with a bit about the bags mounting and what the final look is like. Oh nice parking spot you have too.

Agree with Ratman - would like to see it with the bags mounted and how far or close the brackets are to the fender. It's just a view you did not provide in your video. My guess is the Scootworks set up gets the brackets closer to the fender because everything screws from one side without nuts on the inside (Is that right?)
I have a set of Traveleer mounting brackets that only come off the seat. They work well, but are straight with no offset and hang out a little farther from the fenders. Would like to have a closer fit. So just trying to confirm that the Scootworks brackets provide the closest fit.
I use these mounts on my Drifter and they're fine!
I'll get back to you with some shots and details regarding mounting space etc. I've ordered some hard bags as well, but will make sure to take some shots of the current "regular" leather bags I have mounted.

Yeah, I ordered from them (scootworks) one time...in early February....in July, after several bs stories and still no mounting brackets, I decided to make my own.
If anyone would like the pattern just message me your address and I will mail it to you.
Can't attest to their quality, but the customer service left an awful lot to be desired.........

Gerhardberger - Do I have it right?....the fit to the fender is close because of all the attachments from one side and the bags don't look like they are hanging out away from the bike?

Ok, I did a real quick video with a pair of leather saddle bags mounted. As I mention in the video, my hard bags have arrived at my local dealers. I hope I'll have them mounted by the end of the week and I'll follow up that again with a new video 8)

Ricardo - Nice job on the second video and thanks. That was the info I was looking for. The final installation stands off the side of the fender about 2 inches....about as close as you can get. Your installation looks good as does the bike. Again, appreciate the extra time to film and inform us all.

I just thought I'd finish this thread up with some pictures of the final results having mounted Givi hard bags. The original idea was to attach Givi's hardware to the Scootworks brackets which would make them detachable from the bracket. In the end I decided against it cause the margin of error felt too small for a person with little experience in metal work. So rather than ruin brackets worth $240 I drilled holes in the $130 Givi bags instead which match the predrilled holes in the Scootworks brackets.
I have one little small detail left and that is to shorten atleast one of the bottom screws, else it might run the risk of hitting the frame surrounding the fender when the spring is under load. That's probably not a good thing :) You can see this dilemma in the last picture below.
P.S. In case you noticed, I had to change the mirrors because some muppet tried to steal my Kuryakyn. He didn't quite succeed as he broke one of the mirror glasses on one of them so he just dumped them next to my bike...Stock ones will have to do until I can afford new ones...
