Las week I suffered "some colateral" damage on my bike: Lowering my bike from the tráiler I used to take the bike to the catalán coast, I heard a strange noise from the bottom of the bike. Something broke there under...but as the bike was running as always I was not worried. Tody I laide well below the bike, and this is what I saw: :o
Does anybody know the real damage on my bike, and is it's serious or not? :-[
broken fins are not unusual on motorcycles. These are not serious, nor mission critical. I would be MUCH more careful in the future with the trailer loading/unloading.
Thank you very much. I feel much better now !
I have a couple of broken fins, due to rocks on the road and everything is fine. But I do have a question about the first picture, and in the top of it is that anti freeze in the green colour or what i it?

It looks so, but the bike is not loosing any liquid :o
ok then all is good just asking in case it was a wee leak.
I would keep an eye on the underside; look for oil seepage in case there is minute cracking from the impact on the motor. It would show up as a dirty stain, likely. When I was unloading my 1500 one time, the ramp fell off the trailer with the rear wheel on it. Luckily the bike was cushioned by my foot; no damage to the bike...or my foot, for that matter. Was stuck there until my wife and father helped me out of my predicament though.. :)
Now i'm worried !!!! I've done some further pictures and i see a hole on the lower part of the bike.
What dou you thing it is ? Is that hole normal ?
I'll have to look at my bike when I get home now, but if you have all your fluids in the machine it should be fine.
ok checked my bike and I too have the same type of orifice in my block too, it goes up about 3/4 of an inch and is closed off. Not sure what it is for but it is normal.

Uffff. Thank you !
thats where the blinker fluid is stored.

The guys from my garaje told me that the hole is normal. Is something like a exhaust valve for the cooling system. In my case, probably my waterpump will start giving me some problems (45.000kms). Thats the reason for the cooling fluid seen outside. I should check regulary the water level...
Well you would have had to bang the motor pretty hard to damage the water pump just during the loading and unloading of the machine. But now you know.
