Title: CNC testing. Display plate.
Post by: Dubliner on July 28, 2013, 15:46:34 PM
It's is the first try out with bitmap image of font, so real font would be perfect. Looks good and can't wait to try out more pieces, other materials.

Think ill fill this with paint, polish and mount like an RAC badge. By the way the artwork is really bad, I'm just doing runs to test the machine control software. The quality will improve when I'm satisfied with the machine settings. I'll be able to focus on the artwork. Thanks for looking. Dubliner

VERY cool, Dubliner.   Looks vaguely familiar...

This is what I ended up doing with a similar project

Dubliner definitely agree with Greenbarn ! It's a wonderful thing to have those neat machines to be able to design these pieces . Unfortunately for many of us including myself some toys are just a dream LOL . Anxious to see what else you have in store . I always wanted  an emblem that said  drifter to put on the front fork reflector holders . HHHMmmm how about a price on those for me ?

Well Gentlemen, CNC sure is a lot of fun yes, being able to make or customize your own parts is really cool. As for the air box, mine has Edelbrock filters and looks quite different than others I've seen, so I presume you mean the dome shaped chrome  cover? ( forgive me I'm relatively new to bikes ) figuring out the radius of that would be a bit of a challenge so an applied badge might be easier, but all it takes is getting a few to measure and prototype and no ill do that on my own stock, don't worry. As for the drifter one Greenbarn, do you mean the reflector on the cable organizer on right front fork?  Perhaps I could come up with a Club badge, with your name and member number engraved into it. WOW Dubliner , that came out SWEEEETTT !!!!! Yes the cable organizer reflector holder is exactly would I'm speaking of . I myself removed the reflectors off of the holder being I personaly don't like what I call the bicycle look ...LOL . Man I could sure have fun with that toy making pieces as I see you already are . As my wife would say , "Boys and their toys ! "

Thank you  - Ill figure out how it attaches to mine and Ill make a few samples and see what you think. That way it would be a proper fit using the existing mount. LED lit acrylic would be sweet too : ). OK off to the shop...
