So I cruised up to the Alma Highlands Festival at the highest town in North America on Sunday. 452 miles round trip without a hitch. I've made some changes on the bike since then, I painted the aircleaner covers the color of the bike along with the speedo housing. I've got the Zambini emblems on the air cleaners too, they look great on that brown. I got the new Singh saddle but don't like it on the bike. So I've got another seat pan and design I want to go with, any ideas on someone to stitch it up for me or should I look local? I'm talking to Singh so we'll see what we can do about it. Maybe he has something I like better. Rumor going around at the Festival was Rob Zombie was there on a new Indian! I didn't see him though.
The bike without the new seat or new mods. It still attracted a little attention.
Nice bike; great first ride!
Nice looking ride, and the colours is really different. So are you higher then 49 on a normal day then?
It was about 65 when I left Northern New Mexico at 8:30 and got up to about 80 in some places along the ride but up at Alma it was about 75. Everybody was playing in the water and riding their Harleys. At one point I merged in with a pack of them and disturbed them with my newbieness. Quiet bike, riding the speed limit, who the hell did I think I was?
This is the Singh saddle I got comes complete with chrome tiara, not perfect for my bike, which I've lovingly named Mongoloid. You see the look I'm going for, low and dark. This perches me up high and a little too forward. I'm willing to chop the bike up a little to achieve the look but not going to happen with this seat. Too bad because I love the seat, it's the 1500 that's the problem in all honesty. I think this seat works better with a 800.
Very cool bike! 8)
