Title: 800 rear suspension spring
Post by: Nanook on June 20, 2013, 11:47:15 AM
Ok, let's start withe the obvious....I'm not skinny at 275lbs. And my rear suspension even at 7 is pretty soft. I'm also a newbie in moto mechanics. Is it possible to get a stronger spring for the shock or do I have to buy a complete shock at 450$????

Thanks

Scootworks has a shock pre-load kit.
At $44.95 it may be worth a try.

Anyone using it now? If so how is it and how hard to install?

I may try the preload but would really like to buy a new harder spring on the long run, anybody know a place where to look for?
Thanks

I am not positive, but I thought Progressive made something for the rear shock.  I put in their fork springs, and they are far and away better than stock.  You might want to check their website or call their customer service dept.

Seems like I saw something on this forum before about it, or maybe it was somewhere else.
