Title: I love my Drifter!
Post by: Ricardo on June 17, 2013, 12:08:55 PM
Ok, so I've had my 800 Drifter for almost 2 weeks now and God, I love it to death!

My old 500 Scooter had the practicality. My old EN500 had the nimbleness. The Drifter has coolness, style and charisma and it's all worth it! Don't know what else to say, just felt like expressing that fact  8)

Duh sing the song "Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer"

  Olive is mentioned in near every verse because she used to laugh and call him names;
never let poor Rudolph nor join in any reindeer games.

Unless they released a different version of the lyrics, there is no "Olive" in "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer". The lyric is ALL OF...

Louie Louie, me gotta go
Louie Louie, me gotta go

Fine little girl she waits for me
Me catch the ship for cross the sea
I sail the ship all alone
I never think I'll make it home

(chorus)

Three nights and days me sail the sea
Me think of girl constantly
On the ship I dream she there
I smell the rose in her hair

(chorus)

Me see Jamaica moon above
It won't be long, me see my love
Me take her in my arms and then
I tell her I never leave again

I've had my Drifter for a few months and have put about 1500 miles on it and try as I might I can't remember what I was doing before I got it. What did I think about? How did I function without the Drifter? What future plans could I possibly be making without the Drifter?

I had to convince myself, at first...but now after we've been together for 42,000 miles, I kinda like it....Remember, I had my TourGlide for 200,000, and my Hot rod ElectraGlide for 254,000....I tend to hold onto things for a while...

Having just had mine about a week, and with riding weather almost gone what little I have got to ride mine I surely do love it!! light on her feet and nimble in comparison to my 1700 Nomad.  Out on the open road the Nomad is hard to beat, but on shorter trips I think I am really going to like my Drifter!  I told my wife if the Drifter was any easier to ride I would have to call it a slut!  ;D

This particular bridge is in Knox County IL near Galesburg.  Myself and some of my fellow Vulcan riders visited several covered bridges in IL this past year.  These other two pictures are near Princeton IL

I haven't heard from Pete lately.  Talked to BoaSki the other day, though.  Might get together in a week or so for a Drifter Rider's not-riding-cause-it's-too-cold breakfast or cup of coffee or something.

Ratman, when you come, I'd be glad to do the bridge tour for you.  I put together a ride this summer, I think it's about 80 miles, with about 8 (if I remember) scenic covered bridges, and some pretty nice Ohio Scenery (for this part of the state), including River Road, along the Scenic Scioto River.  If you want, we'll extend it far enough to stop by the G & R Tavern in Waldo for a World-Famous Bologna sandwich.

I felt in love with mine since the first time i saw her inside the local kawa dealer: I still remember I was drivin' with my car and (I don't know why, maybe a sign from heaven) my eyes turned over that showcase and BOOOM! I saw that WONDERFUL and COOL retro-styled bike, so I just stopped my car in the middle of the Street (fortunately, none was behind me...) than parked it and in a hurry I was inside the store to get a closer lookin' at her (and I was droolin' like a wolf on his sheep ;D). A week later I went for my first Drifter ride and so I felt much more in love with her, because of her smooth cornering (and the glittering of her floorboards on the asphalt... ::)).
Now it's 14 years since that and I'm still in love with my baby, just like the first day :D

Now I remember seeing that before.  Went back to your intro post again - man, that's like a Who's Who entry - There's almost as many drifter pics in that post as there are in the Gallery...    ;D
That was a good bridge pic....

If there are more than 1 bridge up there by you - it would be worth mapping them out and making a nice little ride out of it, D1.  I like covered bridges.
