Ok now I did it. Had a couple nice long bug filled rides so it was time to wash the bike. Had the bike out earlier in the day looking at a new helmet at the local shops. Came home and about an hour later gave the bike what I would consider a normal wash. Normal for me is up on the lift so I can get the rims good and clean. After the wash I was going to drive her back into the garage. When I turn the key all the lights turn on and go out and I get that familiar electronic whine when everything is powering up. When I push the start button all I get is a single faint click. Did water get somewhere it shouldn't where should I start looking and in what order? Thanks for the in advance.
Check your battery terminals....
Found the issue, I somehow knocked the wiring connector for the clutch cable loose. Stupid, Stupid Stupid. At least it didn't cost me anything but my time to xorrect.
That is, apparently, a common problem. When I bought mine, besides having a broken transmission, dead battery, etc. and all the other possibilities that can happen sitting in a barn for years, the clutch switch was disconnected, too!
I was a bit worried at first. I was hoping to get in a 1200 mile ride in next weekend and things weren't looking good for a while. Hoping to ride up to Angel Inlet in Minnesota. This is the most northern print in the lower 48.
Have a good trip and hope you have good weather. Watch out for ice... pretty close to Canada there, ya know...
easy Mr. 0hi0 guy there......
