Title: recall oil filter question
Post by: roadrash on June 01, 2013, 10:40:41 AM
I have a 2003 1500 it had the oil filter recall done, went to change oil this morning and the cap is froze to the base they put in, so i just used a k&n i had laying around, has any one had a real problem with the bike using the basic filter?

The problem is SOME of these bikes had aner pressurization problem which caused the oil filter to burst -- obviously not a good thing to have oil suddenly all over the rear tire and the engine without oil.

Some people have taken the chance and reverted back to the original. While I haven't heard of any of our folks blowing oil all over the place... that does NOT mean you won't be the one!

Unfortunately the problem you had seems to happen too frequently... and that particular setup is expensive to replace.
