Title: Might be picking up a new to me Drifter
Post by: TripWire on May 10, 2013, 14:26:29 PM
Ever since I sold my 2000 800cc Drifter I have been missing its "look".  For some reason my 800 was repainted or came from the factory in 2000 1500cc teal paint.  I sold my 800cc last year when I switched to a 1500 and have missed that old school look ever since.  Don't get me wrong I love my 2001 two tone, chrome covered, smile inducing beast but it just doesn't compare to that teal blacked out beauty (beauty is in the eye of the beer holder).  Found a 2000 1500cc for sale in my area and gonna go take a look at her tomorrow, if everything checks out there will be a 2001 1500cc for sale soon.

You could always have a Week-day bike, and a Week-end bike......

My dream is to someday have a 1500 chromed and loaded with a 2-up, and an 800 old-school, 2-tone, maybe blacked-out, maybe chrome, but "indianized" to some great extend.  Maybe I'll win that lottery.

Good luck shopping.

Don't think I will be changing just yet. After seeing the bike I saw that it had been transformed into a ride for someone who LOVES skulls.  The were everywhere, bolt covers, bar end, reflectors, brake lights, medallions, etc... I just wasn't picking up there "restyle" of the bike for the price there were asking.  It did have a tach, which was cool but she had a few issues - looks like both jugs are seeping oil, some of the after market parts are starting to rust a bit.  I made a offer that I was fair but needless to say we couldn't agree.  I hope he can find the right buyer so if you in the central Wisconsin (Wisconsin Rapids) area maybe this bike is what you are looking for.  I'll throw this link on the for sale board.
