found a Drifter in Toronto for sale and it has passenger floor boards and they fold up too. So sent the dude an email over a week ago and nothing back......now if I had Chilli or PC's money I would just buy the bike for the boards, but I am just a poor boy and getting poorer.......need to find out were he bought them and mounted them.....even asked for pictures perhaps I peeved him off......lol....
Sorry I forget... what's the problem? ... the boards fit the same on the 800 as the 1500. You can buy Kuryakyn boards and use adapters to install them. Those are the ones I have on my bike. They are fold up.

The ones in that pictures you provided are Fire and Steel boards... which have been discontinued... but you might still find some someplace... PN 46000-415 (chrome).
Ok, I'm confused. Why have passenger floor boards on a solo bike? Personally, I'd like to find a set of the real Indian style boards with the extensions for the chummie seat passenger. They were an aluminum extension that was bolted on the underside of the board, and extended the length far enough for a passenger. I've been looking for a picture, but so far, nothing......

For some reason when I built mine, I got the impression they were different. (800 vs 1500)
;) Troll I have the stock seat, and on a few rare occasions carry a passanger. Personally I just like the looks of the boards rather then pegs. But then I am picky and they have to fold up.
Chief I too was under the impression that the mounts on the 800 and 1500 were different. That is why the hard time finding boards that will fold up and tuck tight to the bike. I have sent off an email request for those black boards you had the link for and asked if they will infact fit a 99 Drifter 800, and will fold up and out of the way, to avoid ordering and finding they do not fit or fold up, Appreciated all the help and ideas with this project.
On the bike you posted the pic of, I enlarged the pic, and those look like Fire and Steel boards; have you checked Kawi yet, or EBay, under Vulcan?
I have been looking around for a while now, and same story from a lot of places, it has to do with the mounting bracket on the 800 being on an angle so the majority of boards will not fold up completley. This is not a major issue as it will be a next winter project. I'lljust keep looking around till I find what I want and can afford. The adapter is what makes the difference with the Kuryakyn board... the 800 has a female connect point, so you purchase a male spline adapter - the one in the link below is actually a male adapter.
The adapter screws into the BOARD ... that gives it the male connect point for the female frame fitting.
The black boards do fold - folding completely... I don't know. There are different mount points on the back... which helps position it I assume. The splined adapter allows you to canter the boards in different angles. Mine do that. The previous ones folded but at an angle. With a single connect point and the splines they can rotate under pressure. I have never used those boards!! So take what I say with a grain of salt!
The 800 Drifter has the same frame fittings for the pegs as the 800 Classic... so if it will work on the classic it should work on the Drifter.
Alternatively... I don't know if that female connect point is bolted or welded on the 800... if bolted, you can remove it and install whatever you want/need... if welded you can always cut it off, drill it out to accept a different mount.
Admittedly, I am still learning about the 800. I need to find one someplace I can (afford) to learn more about them.
