Title: Mechanics shirts
Post by: greenbarn on March 21, 2013, 20:59:30 PM
I was sitting here in my VDR long-sleeve tee, thinking to myself "Self, wouldn't a mechanic's-style shirt with the new really cool VDR logo be great to "tool" around on the drifter this summer?"

Chief, just thought I'd throw out that idea - I thought maybe you'd have some good sources to have something like this made up.

How many others would be interested??  I'm sure these would be substantially more expensive than a $15 t-shirt.  I passed up on a couple of really nice tool-truck-brand shirts that I just didn't think was worth (to me) the $50, but I would be willing to pay that for a drifter shirt, if it were really sharp and I really liked it..... 8)

just a thought.... :-\

The Drifter is a very rare beast, owners in a certain area are also rare..In the big old world there are millions of people and not many of them like the same things..Now condense that world down to the number of Drifter owners and now consider the number of those drifter riders who use this forum on a regular basis, and then take the same percentage of these forums users who will like the same thing..

This is the reason merchandising on a rare beast forum is so difficult, the cost of low number production runs of anything is extremely high and this also helps to keep the number of potential purchasers to a very low number..

I know this for a fact..

John.

If anyone wants to buy a few thousand books..

Darn....I guess I'm gonna have to see if I can have my shirt custom made.Greenbarn I still believe It's a good idea.If there's one thing on this forum we can agree on is this....we all love Drifters so to have a shirt, hat patch etc.would be no different then the millions of Harley-Davidson riders wearing Harley gear.....

2009 and 2010 in limited sizes here:

2011 and 2012 - reproductions here.

http://www.cafepress.com/motorgear/5055277

I will be adding reproductions of the 2009 and 2010 shirts to the cafepress store at some point - want to sell what we have on hand first.

No 2013 shirt yet... those will only be available from the 2013 Drift-In host until after the DI...  I usually try to buy the leftovers, and/or the design to allow us to continue to produce the shirts.
