Looking for some of my fellow drifters knowledge that I'm not to familiar with on this project.Being the weather is starting to warm up I'm looking to get all my mods buttoned up for riding season insight,"FINALLY!" ;)What i"m trying to do is add a front fender rail for dress up purposes only.No intentions on using it for a storage rack,milk crate for grocerie shopping,passanger to ride on etc.all though it would look pretty funny riding down the street with my bud,Ratman aboard pulling the wheel chair....HAHAHA...loosing my thoughts here...ok so heres the deal,I want to avoid drilling holes to attatch this rail to the fender for this project.I was wondering being there is things to think about such as wind speed,vibrations bumps etc. being it is the front of the bike,what would you guys recommend as far as adhereing it to the fender.I know Marsholldoll used black silicone but not sure what type?He has had no problems with his at all.I know theres various types for roofs,bathrooms,windows and so forth.Any help on this project is greatly appreciated....here's Marsholldolls mod...

Drift1 I know exactly what you are talking about. I used OEM from Kawasaki. What do you think?

I know I have a huge roll of body molding tape left over from when our body shop closed down, and it hold all them plates and stuff to a truck/car, but it might take the paint off later. Silicone will work too but you are correct it needs to be the correct one. I aslo have shafting expoy for golf clubs that I know would hold, albeit will remove the paint too.
You're possibly thinking of Dow Corning one shot silicone rubber..

Dow Corning silicone will work. Also 3M has a ton of automotive body caulk/adhesives designed for this pupose. Suggest you stop in at an auto paint store. They shuold be able to help you out.

...or any good auto parts store would have what you need as well. I would stick with a name brand product, like previously suggested - Dow Corning and 3M are both good products, and Permatex is good as well.
I have used the windshield urethane ( the black stuff used to hold windshields in vehicles with) to attach emblems and trim to bikes and vehicles. It comes in tape or tube, I use the tape(cleaner) I holds indefinitely, can be removed by applying heat with a hair dryer to soften it with. the stock tank emblems on my Drifter were held on with that. It is available in any auto-body supply store, or a body shop might sell you the amount you need. Make sure to remove any waxes from the paint before using.

Thanks for all the great suggestions.I'll take this knowledge to an auto parts store to see what's available.I've been to the local paint shop and they only carry white adhesive.I'm sure it would have worked well but to be quit honest it made me nervous being the piece being mounted is powder coated black.If I get any over flow from being pressed on It's going to stick out like a sore thumb.With black at least I'll have a little room for forgiveness.
