According to the specifications on this site the shock/wheel travel for the 1500 is 3.9 in (100mm). I know it might seem stupid to to question specs in print but I thought it was worth checking out. Has anyone experienced anything different under real road conditions?
You have to remember that those numbers are probably calculated at the shocks. Since the wheel swings from a pivot point more towards the middle of the bike, and the measurement is taken towards the rear of the bike, it would make sense that anything behind the mid point of the shock would swing along that arc a little more. As such, the high point of the rear fender, which is aft of the mid point of the shock, would travel a little more them 100mm. I haven't tested that, but it makes sense to me.

I did find a little more detail info here for anyone hanging stuff on either the front or rear of their Drifter. It forced me back to the drawing board on my project. More on that later.

It might be helpful if you indicated what you are trying to accomplish. Of course, how much the rear end is going to travel depends upon how the air shocks are configured, if those have been replaced with something else, and loading. You really don't hang bags and stuff off the rear fender on the drifter... you use the frame. Most things have been done, so an idea of your goal might lead to some more specific comments.
