well its benn over 4yrs has anyone seen evidence of damage to oil filter dents dings/punchers

Mine always look fine when I check.  Is this more of an issue with 800's or 1500's?

ride a 1500  dont know about  800  but its not good to not have oil

Haven't had that happen to me. My FLT had the filter in nearly the same place, right in front of the rear wheel, and that never happened to it either.

  Oil filter on the 800 is right up front behind the front wheel, but I am thining the fender will protect it, unless it is one huge rock and a lot of them....
