Title: Fender Indian
Post by: plevine1 on December 12, 2012, 12:11:33 PM
I hit a bump and basically the entire indian head light on the front fender flew off never to be seen again. Only thing left is the base mounting plate. I bought a new one on ebay. I need to remove the base plate first to install the replacement.
Will I need to remove the front fender or will lifting the front with a jack provide enough room to get between the tire and fender?
Thanks

The distance between the fender and the tire are a fixed value. If you drop the front wheel off, you will have plenty of room.

Would it not be easier to remove the front fender to reattach the light?

I agree, and this will give you an excuse to give it a good clean..

John.

The fender is attached to the lower part of the forks, so lifting the bike will not change the distance between the fender and the tire.  You can lift it and remove the tire though.

Be easier as PC mentioned to just drop the tire, besides you have to remove the tire to get the fender off anyways.
