How similar are the Vulcan models to each other? I'm looking for fender tips for my Drifter but am having trouble finding them. There out there for Classics & Nomads. I was hoping that certain parts of the Vulcan are the same across the models.
Thanks in advance for any assistance that anyone can lend.
Check out Zambini Bros. site; they make fender tips specifically for the Drifters.

Over in the Mods/Tips section of the website under Maintenance and Reference, there is some info... here's the direct link to the cross-reference document we have. If anyone knows of any additional parts that can be used let us know.

The Zambini Bros. ones are nice, but they aren't metal. They're an epoxy based product (looks kinda like JB Weld or something). They are then painted with a metalized paint that resembles old unpolished steel. If that's the look you're after then they're great. If not, the choices narrow quickly.
The thing is, Customs and Nomads have a different curvature to their fenders then Drifters, and that's what makes it tough. I've toyed with the idea of making a wooden set of tips, then making a mold from that and casting some parts, but haven't gotten around to it.
Tell you what. I will make you a "round to it" (since you haven't gotten around to getting one) :o it you make me a set of tips; deal? ;D

Am I being called out for my procrastination?

when we get "round to it" (since you haven't gotten around to doing it)
First of all, Thanks to all for the input! Second, you guys are a hoot!!! I remember I use to work with a guy that had a a flat, round piece of wood about the size of a silver dollar that had the words "To It" printed on it. Yep, you guessed it. A Round To It.
Any way, I've been searching and calling all over and no luck on a good set of metal, chromed fender tips. I thought finding a two up seat was hard to find for this bike. I love the bike but it is very, very difficult to find accessory type parts for it.
Aftermarket parts were tough when the bikes were still in production. They're harder now. You either learn to live with the bike pretty much as it sits, make a friend who fabricates, or get some new tools and start honing your skills. On the plus side, that's what makes so many of our bikes so unique!

To me, that is one of the things I like about the Drifters; anyone can order parts from a catalog, thus building an "aftermarket parts custom" the venerable Drifter, however, requires a lot of thought and ingenuity, (that means the power of creative imagination, RATMAN) :o thus a much more "Custom" ride.
Oh, sorry for the dig, Ratman................NOT!! ;D
