Post by: joe1980 on September 17, 2010, 09:49:57 AM
first i have a 03' 1500 drifter. it has the factory 2 into some junk smog box into one big ass pipe that is nothing more than like a 1" pipe with a huge heat shield around it.

so anyway i watched the video of how to plug the pipe with a dowel, than hole saw it out. well after i looked at my exhaust, and removed the tip, there are 2 small pipes about 8" long that go into two larger pipes that are about 2" long, then those go through a plate into the huge pipe... so whatthe hell do i cut out drill ect???? i want a little more sound without effecting performance, and before anyone says it i will eventually buy aftermarket pipes but at this time i just cannot afford them. so will someone please help!!!!

here is a pic of my bike with the exhaust that is on it

Never heard of putting a "marble in the exhaust".  Most folks remove the epa stuff when they deal with exhaust changes. That requires plugging some things, which includes using a marble.

Check the web site in the mods/tips section... in exhausts section.

I did the hole saw thing on my Nomad but my drifter has Hard Krome pipes.
I'm trying to quiet them down.
The debaffle on the Nomad was easy as the end of the pipe is what you cut. I have never seen a Drifter exhaust up close so no help from me.
I just wanted to up my post count ;D
