Title: lowering kit
Post by: drifter800 on April 08, 2009, 22:33:52 PM
Not sure if this topic has come up but a friend has ordered a lowering kit for a 800 from Scootworks. Anyone ever install one. Seems simple enough i think.

Oh yea, there are a few folks around who have used it. Appears to work fine.

Cheers.

Well i got the kit in. Easy install except i didn't have a spring compressor for the shock. It took me just as long to take it apart as the rest of the job. But i got it done. We went 3 inches front and back. Now she can flat foot. I'm a little concerned about the ride and ground clearance thou. Especialy the running boards on cornering and travel of the rear fender to the seat. Only a few inches before the fender hits the corbin seat. I set the shock at 7 to start.

That's always been my concern with lowering the Drifter. Mine seems plenty low enough. !! <LOL>
