:P
a couple years ago after doing lots and lots of work to my '99 1500- paint, rolled the tank seam, seats, trim, more...I had sold it to pay bills. If anyone remembers it was a light jade green with tan oem bags and tank bib. I had pics up on the board at one time.
Anyway- I hope to be looking for another bike in 3-4 weeks. Of course I am thinking of another Drifter. I've had two 1500's and this time I'm thinking about an 800. I'm 6'3 and 200 pounds, so I'm a little worried about fitting on it.
There is a shop about an hour away from me that has an '05 in stock for sale for way too much money, but I think I'll drive over and check it out Thursday just so I can sit on it- I don't know when I'll ever get the chance to see another one unless I'm travelling to buy it.
Well, hopefully I can join the herd once again.
;DI have an 800 and I am 5' 11" on a good day when I am standing straight
oh and as for the other thing on a good day I am as light as 240 lbs.....sans clothing and having not eaten for the day....lol an imagie for all of you to think of.....and my 800 does not seem to small at least no one said it......my sister and her husband said it was me to a tee.
As far as the 800 "looking" smaller, well they look ,from the seat forward, about the same to me off the bike.
When mounted the 1500's tank is wider as is the frame and the floorboards are wider apart.
Here's a couple of pics of my 1500 and 800 together...

As far as comfort I'm 6'1" and 250+lbs and the 800 having a slimmer frame is just as comfortable if not a little more so than the 1500.
The seat height from the floor boards seems to be about the same with stock solo seats, but the boards are just a little closer to you front to back on the 800. If you had a corbin 2up on your 1500s you actually have more leg room on a 800 with the stock seat. I don't have a corbin seat for the 800 so I can't give you a corbin to corbin comparison.
