One day after returning from Drift-in 2010. I was riding and a thought came to my brain, (Doesn't happen very often.) I decided that I would honor those that I have served with, that gave their life to keep me safe and free. I started looking and found someone who does airbrush work. I explained what I was wanting and she said she'd do it for half what everyone was charging($1500). The right side of my ride will honor four soldiers from my unit. That lost their lives, the left side will honor four law enforcement officers. The four officers 2 Deputies That were co-workers, and two others that I new and worked with from time to time lost their lives while in uniform protecting our streets. Below is pictures ( just the emblems and words, not the black boxes)of how my bike will look. Hope I've posted the right photo work. I am proud to have served with these men.
Very nice. My Dad's Indian had the names of two of his buddies handpainted on it. I use a symbol adopted by my unit for that purpose. It seems fitting - bikes seem to be used often for this purpose. Perhaps its the freedom the bike represents that lends itself to being an appropriate canvas. Some things can and should never be taken for granted.
Remembering you Danny.
I think it will be a great tribute bike. I love your idea and can't wait to see the final results ;D
Both my bikes bear tribute to those who served in Vietnam. We lost a lot of good people in that $h!t hole.
