Title: V and H exhaust
Post by: montreal_drifter on August 11, 2012, 12:53:47 PM
Gents, i'm looking to change my exhaust on my stock '99 800 drifter. Is it a good idea?
Will the bike sound louder and better?
Is it a simple order and install or are there mods to the install that shouldn't be overlooked?

Also these are the V and H longshots. Can i cut those shorter by a foot?

Thnx
Marc

The baffles are about 3" inside the pipe (from the end) so cutting won't get you much; check out the V&H site for shorter mufflers. You can also order the head pipes and mufflers of choice straight from V&H (if you reside in the USA). Or get your part #'s and go to your local bike shop and have them order them if you live north of the border.

I put the V&H Longshots on my 1500; very nice sound, not too loud, but definitely noticeable.

Regards and such,
