Title: 2000 vn800 Handlebars
Post by: rooster on August 20, 2010, 06:14:08 AM
Folks     Hello from New Zealand

I travel around NZ quite a bit, but have problems with the steering of my bike, I feel that I can't hit corners quick and are always slowing down to much.

Question:  Could this problem be fixed with different handlebars, at present I have standard bars on the bike about 36" wide, I feel I could have better control with in swept bars (narrower)  any idea's.

If this is the general feeling of the way I should go, can someone advise me what bars would do the trick and where to obtain them etc.

cheers  rooster

I have a set of T bars which are 32'' from tip to tip. I had the chance to drive a stock 99 and the bars were 36'' wide. Major difference when making turns. Corners thar I whip around with mine, I had to take slower with the stocker. Might have got used to it in a short time. I like the straight line feel of the wider bars and will probably go that way during the winter hibernation.
