Have removed the big O rings in the air filters around the connector tube, ready to replace with new - the old ones had sporadic bits of glue (to hold them in place during assembly - I assume).
Mongrels !!!
Don't like the idea of squashing a new O ring in on top of old glue - but only thing I can think of is to chip out the glue.
Anyone had this problem , and a solution ??
Try brake cleaner Very carefully; you don't want that on your new paint job; or "Goo-gone" if it is a soft glue; it is available in most hardware stores.

Thanks 49Reo,
Tried mineral turpentine first. Minor improvement - some rubber bits, no effect on glue.
My brake cleaner was used up, but I had some CRC Gasket Stripper and OOmph (Gum-off for stickers/transfers).
As it was hard glue, i tried the gasket stripper first and a bamboo BBQ skewer as a scraper, and repeat and repeat. Took 2 hours , but
now spotless and no damage to the part.
Isn't the Internet wonderful (and this forum), would never have thought the Gasket stripper would work on something so hard !! :)
Also, next time, try heating it up - depending on what the glue is ON (i.e. metal or plastic), you can use a heat gun or micro torch or even a propane torch (like I said it obviously depends on what it is ON) to heat up and SOFTEN the glue. OF COURSE you have to be CAREFUL not to overheat the parts.....
