Title: 2006 Drifter 800
Post by: hoosierfish on July 02, 2012, 16:34:10 PM
I bought a 2006 Drifter 800 bone stock w/2000 mi. on it, would like to make some performance mods. Anyone out there have tips on what to tackle first. Thanks, Dan

Hey Hoosierfish,

Congrats on your purchase, I too just purchased an '06 about a month ago with only 700 miles on it!!!  A few things to look at starting on could be, adding a crash bar, a set of additional headlights on a light bar (that was a big one for me just for the visibility factor), exhaust upgrade, jet kit, and k&n filter are a few easy ones as well.  Happy upgrading bro and have fun riding!!

edit:  you said "performance mods" sorry, the crash bar and lights don't really help too much for performance, but they do look good!...lol

Here's another upgrade for your lights that I really like, check these out when you have a chance:

Also, I just started using this stuff for the chain lube and it works great!!!

Have fun.

Don't know about rear, but you can try these guys for front:

they also have these pipes, the hard chrome's are nice...

It gets harder and harder to find parts for these awesome bikes.  ebay is worth checking as well.
