Hey fellas, When I serviced my new to me drifter, I changed the final drive oil with some 75-90 synthetic liqui moly that I use in my turbo diesel vw tranny. On my run to town, I think the oil is to light as I can hear a whine. I have some Bel Ray gl5 85-140 Gear Saver oil for gearbox and final drive use. Not synthetic, but would this be better? Oregon driving. Thanks Tim
Oh, the 75-90 is gl5. Tim
Hi, Tim1; this from the Kawasaki service manual:
Final gear case oil:
Capacity: 200mL
Type: API GL-5 hypoid gear oil
Viscosity: When above 5C (41F) SAE 90
When below 5C (41F) SAE 80
Hope this helps;
Regards and such,

With taking so little oil, I just changed it and noise went away!! All bikes are different. This works for mine. Thanks for the reply. Tim
So did you put the same moly 75-90 back in?
No, I stayed with the 85-140 and love it. Tim
