We're looking for a new VDR patch design. We are working on some ideas ourselves, but want to give you the opportunity to participate by submitting your own ideas.

3) Must work for multiple sizes... usually 4-6 inches, and a large jacket back patch... 10-14 inches.
4) Colors should be kept to a minimum and should work on both light and dark backgrounds.
5) Standard shapes are best. (round, oval, square, triangle, etc)
6) Designs must be high resolution and digital. We will accept sketched drawings, either digital or hardcopy. We may not be able to appropriately convert these, but will give it a try. email if you need mailing instructions.
Send your design ideas to me: chief@VulcanDrifterRiders.com
All designs become the property of the VDR. The creator of the accepted design will get two sets of patches and/or pins, and will be allowed to purchase other sets at cost plus shipping. Additional prizes may be made available for winner and finalists. We haven't worked out these details yet. Winning designer will be awarded an upgraded membership on this site and will be appropriately credited.
How about a winged skull?
John.
Wow..
I was only kidding, you do not want the winged skull, I would also avoid the winged indian head for the same reason..
But nobody else has expressed an interest..
Who is going to buy these patches?
John.
You... 8)
super simple. But maybe it will give some ideas. Basicly, Our name year and a Tunderbird under it..
I think Vulcan is the God of fire, and blacksmiths, and forges..so maybe a ghostrider type bike on fire..not ghostrider 2 that was a Vmax and the film was rubbish.
John.
I like the tribal ghost riders.. this image looks good if someone could fill the fenders in the Styled Drifter lines. .. with VDR underneath? I believe Jimbo has some skills on the designing side of the world of Personal Computers,.... I think anyway.
So something like this pic then.... This design isnt free... But if we change it,.. Maybe it would be modified enough as to not get into a pinch?
Not sure if this what you are looking for. If so I can supply it in flat colors and high rez.
That's very nice. Are you talking about supplying the graphic in hi-res?
300 or 600 DPI?
I like that really nice, only thing is the more fender? not sure but show more fender somehow....otherwise I'm in on that one....
JMBO and CHIEF,this deffinately a nice design. In my op it's very classic looking, not to busy or flashy, but has thastyle that says look at me to it.Exactly like our Drifters do.I'd vote on this one for sure!
I'm kinda in the boat with RatMan.. I'd like more fender covering the tire. But it looks very nice. Nice to have Jimbo around for these things.
Guys,
Thanks for your feedback. See if this works.
YUP really close now......I am really into this one.....
Nice....I like that one a lot!
That fender looks great.I like it ;)
Really like it with the bigger fender! Well done!
THAT is pretty cool!
Really sharp!
highest res possible - so it can be used for multiple applications.
It would be interesting to see what it would look like with even more fender.
And that the word VULCAN is exactly symmetrical positioned with the word RIDERS. Now it is ending to far in the bottem corner
I really like that as well. I like the "steel" look of the lower wording, and really like the fender. I wonder, like DC, if a bigger fender still would be a further improvement?? After all, isn't that why we all like the Drifter anyways.... (maybe it's just me...)
Hello All...........Well after reading all this about what a logo should look like...I have to say what's wrong with an Indian head wing or no wing?,,,,You realize the your riding a Kawasaki Clone of an Indian...I think the Indian / wing is appropriate
With the inscription
DRIFTER
(Indian Wing) or a pic 800 0r 1500 depending on which your riding
Kawasaki
Or something like that Just my 2bits worth....KEN.
Here's a couple of pics of the fob..change the Indian to Drifter, and the Old Indians never die to Kawasaki.....KEN.
Looks really nice.
Or change to "Old Drifters never die" :-\
I like the 1st patch, but paying tribute to the Indian style is important too. I mean, we all love the style of the old Indians......otherwise we wouldn't ride Drifters.........and we can't deny their kinship with the Indians thru design. I like the Warbonnet, or something like it.........with no "Indian" script. Drifter would be fine. Just my 2Cents...............No matter what it turns out to be, I'll support it and wear it.
Bob, aka "Honeybear"
That last logo Jmbo came up with is really nice too. The one with the Indian Chief in the center with lettering surrounding it"Kawasaki Vulcan Drifter" Something like that would look good as an embroidered patch......

Yep, I agree. I will touch base with him and see what we can come up with. Cheers.
My Mistake Chief, it says "Vulcan Super Chief" and then "Drifter at the bottom. It's really neat and would make a great jacket center patch!! IMHO

This is exactly what I was thinking too. A jacket with that on the back would be extremely cool! 8)
