Title: WooHooo!!!! 18 days off!!!
Post by: KsDrifter on June 06, 2012, 21:30:29 PM
My wife and I have the next 18 days off! I love it! Bags are packed, the Drifter has a fresh oil change, bath, and a new set of home-made lowers(thanks to this site 8))! Tomorrow morning we roll out for a 18 day road trip that'll take us to Gulfport, Ms to see our son and daughter-in-law(both Seabee's)and our 7 month old grandson. We'll spend just over a week with them and then head west across Louisiana, north through east Texas, wander through Arkansas for a while, up through Missouri, and back home. If there's anyone in those areas, I would love to hook up for at least a meet-n-greet. Man, I love road trips!! ;D

Ahhh, Shaddup!!! LOLOL!!! ;D ;D Man, I envy you! It has been raining like a cow p!$$ing on a flat rock (excuse my language, those of you of the gentler persuasion) since yesterday morning; almost 3 inches so far, more to come. I don't mind riding in the rain, done many a mile in it, but prolonged down-pours are not fun. Have a care, ride safe. If you can, pics are always welcome on this site.

Ride safe;

Regards and such,

Made it to Gulfport, MS yesterday afternoon, 565 miles on Thursday and 450it yesterday.  I can't complain a bit, the Drifter ran great averaging right at 40mpg. About the only downside was riding in Gulfport rush hour traffic in a downpour. Now to hang out here with our son, daughter in law, and grandson for the next week.

I hear ya about the rain, we rode in last Friday in the rain and it finally stopped Wednesday.  The past couple days have been gorgeous. I can't complain though, the rainy days spent with family are priceless and it allowed me time to hook up with a talented artist I've known for a few years and get some more ink done. Tomorrow we're heading to New Orleans for the day. Sunday will be a lazy day, beer and departure prep, lol! Then Monday it's back on the road. So far the only casualty has been a headlight lense, but the local kawi dealer got one in and I got it installed last night while enjoying some Corona with my son.

Glad to hear you are having a good (and safe) trip. Time with family is too soon gone; best to enjoy it while it is there.  Have fun and be safe...

Made it home! 2313 miles and the Drifter didn't miss a beat. The only downside is having been sick with an upper respiratory infection for the last 4 days and having to ride the last 3 hours home in 100+ heat while sick, ugh. Oh well, soaking up the ac now 8) It was an awesome trip. I still over 600 pics to go through and once that's done I do a trip write up on my blog and put a link here!
