Title: Power commander
Post by: 1999 Drifter on April 30, 2012, 12:59:39 PM
It appears that the backfiring , poping, ruff runnng is due to a faulty power commander on my 99 1500 drifter as per my mechanic
Has anyone had to replace their power commander?
If so what would your reccomendation be for a new replacement
My old commander is a Thunder Commander
Thanks

This isn't the first time I've heard of this. Personally, I would remove the remains and ride it without for a while to see if you REALLY NEED IT.

I have the power commander III,  I've had zero problems with it and it's easy to reset maps yourself using a laptop. Dyno shops really like it also. It fits in the behind the side cover with the computer access port right there on top.
