Hello All .........Happy Easter....Has anyone taken off and compared the front and rear rotor for dia?....I can't figure out why the rear is drilled and the front is not.....would be nice to drill the front out or if it's the same put a rear on it.... KEN.
Calipers are different, and so are the brake pads, so I would suspect they are NOT interchangeble
Nope they are different.
EBC makes some aftermarket rotors for the drifter. I'm going to do this myself on the front asap.
EBC Brakes MD4125LSLeft Contour Rotor EBC PN MD4125LS; Rear Rotor PN MD4148
holes - heat distribution, allows a place for the heat from friction to escape.
now why not in the front?? makes absolutely no sense seeing that the majority of your braking power comes from the front?!?! (according to MSF site)
another thing to consider when braking to remember to use the front more is which would be easier to changeout when worn?! :) ... i'd like to move up to a drilled or slotted front rotor eventually but have always been asked why we only have ONE rotor and not two?? why, i don't know but it hasn't made a difference on the bike... the thought was that TWO allowed for equal pull when braking so less of a tendency to have it pull one way.
There are TWO numbers in my post... that picture is for the front.

yes, but the STOCK rotor does not have holes... I think that's what he was referring to.
Lots of misconceptions about drilled rotors....check this out...
