Does anyone know can a classic be converted to a drifter. I live in NH and every time I try and buy a drifter it sells before I can get to it. I see a lot of classics out there. Will the fenders and seat fit on a classic?
Frame is entirely different, Final drive gear case is different, the lower legs on the fork are different...The front fender is probably the easiest part to attach, with mods down near the bottom of the fork legs for the lower fender stays, but the rear fender just isn't going to happen without help from a machine shop...Kawasaki actually engineered a different chassis for the drifter, unlike Hardley, where they are all the same under the paint.
Another option is to install an Indian fender(s) on a Classic; check out Iron Horse Corral at www.indianfenders.com (http://www.indianfenders.com). They sell Indian fenders of all years, along with other goodies.
