Title: No owner’s manual
Post by: klake1 on June 10, 2010, 09:49:02 AM
When I purchased my bike 2001 1500 a few weeks ago, no owner's manual came with it.

Should I just order one or is there something better than the owner's manual out there?

I plan on doing only the very basic maintenance items myself and will bring my bike to the Kawasaki dealer for the remainder.

Should I buy an owner's manual, a service manual, or both?

What are the best places to purchase the item(s) besides EBay?

Buy the service manual... the owner's manual is practically useless IMHO... finding a service manual may be difficult, but you can find them for around $35.

Personally I have the service manual and the Clymer's manual. I use Clymer's most often... it is a great resource.

Go over to the web site and click on BOOKS... or

The Kawasaki service manual has never let me down.  They have one specific to the Drifter and it covers everything.  I've had my bike apart down to the frame and back together...the service manual was a priceless resourse.  I got mine on Ebay cheap...a Kawi dealer could probably order one up for you as well.
Good luck,
Mr. Bill

I bought mine on eBay; less than half what Kawi wanted.
