Title: oil drain plug gasket
Post by: 1999 Drifter on May 31, 2010, 15:58:49 PM
Did my first oil change , when I removed the oil drain plug I did not see any drain plug gasket, but what I did find after draining the used oil was a stainless steel washer in the bottom of my drain pan it looks like previous owner may have used this washer instead of a gasket.....your thoughts

oh ya   I did put the washer back on the drain plug just in case

The "gasket" is actually a soft metal washer.  If you are worried about it, you can order another one from any discount oem parts place. Its good to replace it every now and again anyway.
