Title: 2012 might not be so bad
Post by: Troll on January 05, 2012, 14:36:15 PM
I realize that a lot of you are able to ride all year 'round, but we denizens of the north usually have to wait until the buzzards come back to Hinckley, Ohio (google it) to get out and ride. This year, so far has been really nice. It's saving me a ton of money on heat, and there is no snow, at all! Today, it got up to 52 Deg. F....needless to say, I flopped the battery in the Drifter and went out for a ride. I saw 2 other bikes on my 9 mile odyssey, so I'm obviously not the only crazy one out there. Last year, at this time it was -15 and we had about 2' of snow. I bought the two up seat that La Douche had for sale, so I got a chance to try it out. It"sits" entirely differently than the solo seat... I think I like it. I'm experimenting with using the solo rack with the dual seat, and so far, so good.

Must be nice!!! Up here in the 'Frozen North' (Northern B.C. Canada) it has been 'mild' up to about 34-40 F, but my driveway is literally a sheet of ice; I have to wear ice cleats on my boots just to walk from the house to the shop and back; I have plowed snow 4 time so far this winter, (not much compared to most winters)and am (impatiently) awaiting spring. Once I navigate my driveway, (100 yards) I then have a half mile of gravel, which is either under ice or mud, then the black top. So needless to say, I envy all you fellow Drifter riders who live in sunnier climes.  Oh well, I could always move; then I would have to find something else to belly-ache about!
Keep it shiny side up,

Regards and such,
