My 2002 1500 drifter when not running. will not go into 2nd gear.it will go into 1st and nuetral.
Any Ideas?

That is how it's designed. If the engine is not running, the positive neutral finder will not let it shift up. Small price to pay for the ease of finding neutral, but it does make bump starting more interesting.

More than welcome...glad to help. My rider ed program has a 2000 ninja, and a 2011 eliminator...the student really appreciate how easy it is to find neutral, but we sometimes have to push start them 'cause somebody leaves the key on over night...
