I have an 800 but put this here figuring more people would read it and respond.
My manuel says I have a 4 gal. gas tank. I get about 50 mpg. I go on reserve at 126 miles. I then only take 2 1/2 gal.
So aparrently I have 1 1/2 gal of gas after I go on reserve. Does this sound right?
According to those figures I should be able to go another 75 miles before I run dry.
When do the rest of you guys go on reserve?
I haven't gone to reserve yet. I fill up at 125 miles(200 kilometers) but then there is difference between US and Imperial Gal
but in Canada we use Liters ???
4 US gal = 3.3 Imperial gal
1 L = .26 US gal
1 L = .22 Imperial gal
??? ??? ???
checked my gas reciepts, not hit reserve yet but must have been close, these are my numbers so I can't really figure it out...lol
126 miles= 2.8 US gal= 45mpg
126 miles = 2.4 Imp gal =52 mpg
203km = 10.9 L = 18.6 MPL
So what is my GAS MILEAGE ?
The 1500 is the same way. I have the "5 gallon" tank, and I usually fill up just as the low fuel light is coming on, and the most I've ever dropped in that tank is 3.8 gallons.

126 miles= 2.8 US gal= 45mpg
126 miles = 2.4 Imp gal =52 mpg

So what is my GAS MILEAGE ?
2.4 Imp gal =2.88 US Gal. so 126 divided by 2.88 = 43.75 mpg
203 km=126.1 US miles and 10.9 L = 2.87 US Gal. so 126.1 diveded by 2.87 =43.93 mpg
add them up;
45
43.75
43.93
--------
132.68 divide by 3 == 44.22 MPG
Your overall total MPG is 44.22 mpg
But that is not really what I wanted to know. I want to know what milage you guys go on reserve at. normal trip for us is 200 to 450 miles a day. On the Nomad thats no problem as I don't have to fill up the tank only every 180 miles. But when I take the Drifter it is stop evert 120-130 miles.
i cut about 1/2 from my reserve tube. gets me a few more miles before i have to switch.
