Hello all; back on March 26, 2010, this (Big motorcycle accident in Phoenix yesterday) was posted by 2 Wheels of Fury. Does anyone out there in Drifter-land know what the outcome was? Was the driver of the truck ever sentenced? Was talking with friends tonight about the "ripple" effect of people driving while under the influence, and this post came to mind.

I think there is some info down in the General Bike News section.
Last I heard on Aug 27, there was a hung jury and the prosecutors indicated they would retry the jerk.

Well, for my 2 cents worth, that Butt-hole should never see the light of day for the rest of his life; however, our "justice" system will likely turn him loose with a suspended sentence. >:(

Ask any lawyer... we have a "legal" system, not a "justice" system. If we had a justice system and "loser pays", there would be far fewer lawyers, products would be far cheaper, and bad guys would think twice before injuring someone else. IMHO...
Know how many jokes there are about lawyers? Only three; the rest are all true stories!

Just read that article on the above-mentioned web site; what a joke; 9-3 in favor of aquittal.
It all depends on who you are...... "Just bikers, so lets go easy on the truck driver." But, had it been any other group, say a bunch of guys heading out for the Saturday game of golf, likely a different outcome. Just like a pack rat; what is the difference between a pack rat and a squirrel? They and both rodents, but the squirrel is dressed better, so everyone thinks they are cute. Kill a squirrel, people get angry; kill a pack rat, everyone is happy. (Not that I am comparing bikers to unsavory rodents, or advocating killing rodents, just making a point.) >:(
