Title: What works best?
Post by: southernyank617 on October 23, 2011, 17:01:39 PM
My 04 800 has the stock solo seat on it. I'm looking at replacing it with a 2up so my wife can ride with me. I see this is a well talked about subject on here. I'm considering the Corbin but I see there is an aftermarket Kawasaki seat. Two questions about this seat, one is it still available and two does it come with the sissy bar and pad? With the 2up seat I would need some passenger foot pegs or floor boards where's the best place to get these? Also I'm in need of a new chain, any suggestions? Thinking about a Regina with the X ring. Thanks for looking and any feedback.

Kawasaki made a two-up seat for the 800, but these are no longer available except through ebay, etc. With this seat you need the underlying hardware to make the seat work. The seat does NOT come with sissy bar/grab rail etc. You have to buy that stuff if you can find it - again used. All of this gets pretty expensive. Personally, I'd buy the corbin.

The Corbin two-up doesn't require any additional hardware to setup the seat. (doesn't come with grap rails, foot pegs etc.)

You can buy foot pegs/boards readily... any 800 hardware works fine.

Sorry, no suggestions for chain.

Thanks you for the info. I really appreciate it. Looks like this will be my project for the winter.
