Title: Exhaust blow
Post by: Driftn05 on April 21, 2010, 20:43:48 PM
I have the stock exhaust on my 05 1500.  I noticed the other day that I have black soot on the fender.  Directly to the side of where the soot is there is a hole in the exhaust pipe and it looks to be factory.  Is there a way to keep the paint from getting it?  Has anyone else noticed this?  Thanks in advance

There are 3 (I think) bolt holes there at the tip. If you have a hole, look at it, bet there are threads inside and you have a missing bolt.

Hello,,

you can get it of with Comadant 4 its a product in europe,, i hope you find it also in the usa.
there are 3 holes,, 2 to keep it on the exhaustpipe, and one to hold the db killers in place.
a frend of mine  had the same problem and he had put on a bold an a ring in the hole...
so he don"t has black scoot on his fender.

Chief was correct I had a fastener missing.  Does anyone have an extra factory fastener?  Maw Kaw doesn't sell them when you look up the exhaust on the Drifter.  There are no screws called out for the tip.  Sooo if anyone has a spare or knows where they can be gotten I would appreciate it.

When it stops raining I'll see if I can remove one from my old exhaust out in the shed.
