That's the stuff that was originally taken off... those ducts went between the jugs from the right to the left. The left side was where the actual air intake was...  That said, you will play hell getting that back togeather. You will be better off fabbing something to hold a base for whatever faux air box you wanna use. The answer is... you can make it work... not sure how easily...

Thanks for the seedy reply

on the left side of each jug(s) I have one tapped hole in each ( 5in center to center) where my re-located ignition swith was.....my idea is to use the backing plate, mount it to these holes then attach the cover the rest of the rubber stuff i don,t require
it just to fill the gap on the left side

Does this sound more easily done?

Yep with the proper support for the back plate it would likely work fine. That air box cover is sorta heavy so you need to ensure its well supported.

rec'd air kit today and put in on in the rain fit perfect as it just a "dummy" for the left side, now the left sides not so bare looking....next will be getting it powder coated black  ;D
no advert but Pinwall Cyle parts in OH sent exactly the parts described and with in 2 weeks to Northen Ontario Canada....good job
