Title: Found one
Post by: TC on April 09, 2010, 07:47:41 AM
Well, after 5 months of searching the for sale ads and ebay I finaly found a drifter that called out to me. A 2001 800. I have a question though. Well many questions, but for now ,just this one ;)
The kick stand goes way forward to the point where I have a hard time reaching it to put it up. Is this a common trait of the 800 drifter  and if so, what do you guys do to help the situation?
  TIA, Tim

I guess it depends upon your inseam... the kickstand does sit a bit forward on the 800, which is a good thing, IMHO. BUT, you need to look closely at it to determine if it has shifted forward, or twisted.

Go over to the pic gallery and check out some 800 pics.

Perhaps someone will post a pic of their 800 on the stand.

You can put extensions, add a end piece etc... but you wanna make sure it sits properly when you are riding... and doesn't impact the kickstand switch.

yip for those of us a slight bit "vertically challenged" it does stick pretty far forward, I am 5'4 and its quite a reach but its a habitual learned thing, becomes second nature, if you are taller than me, yeah check and make sure its not twisted or modified somehow.
