The 2003 Drifter 1500 had a recall on it. http://www.vulcandrifterriders.com/recalls.html You need a special oil filter for it as I recall, and they can be hard to find. Other then that, it's all good!
First, welcome to the forum Ed! I don't think there is anything in particular to be concerned about for the 2003 model year. As with any vehicle, present condition is key. I also found my '99 in Fla., flew down and rode it back (800 mi) with no issues other than a speedometer cable breaking. You wouldn't have that problem, as the 2003 is electronic. Good luck and keep us posted (pics if you do get the bike
).
Owned a 800 drifter (not sure of the age -all red.
Had issues with the bike. 13 motorcycles later I am back. At 70 young I am thinking about returning to biking after a year of not riding (agony).
Problem is ,the one I found is 800 miles away in Fl. I am in Va.
It is a 2003 with 13000 miles and nicely accessorized. Anything special to be concerned about with this particular model or year?
Thanking all in advance
ED
