sprockets ordered. if you get the bike high enough on an underchassis lift, can you drop the rear wheel without messing with the rear fender?
the springs will be ordered as soon as I sell a few more Puch parts.
Absolutely... that's my top 3
oh the sprocket swap is a must mod also......stock is 17 / 40 and I went to 18 / 38 really made a nice change.
Progressive front springs... one of the top 3 upgrades for the 800 (IMO).... and you already did the grampsize mod.
Would depend on how old the suspension is and the fork oil is, might be time to change the front fork oil? Check the springs to see what shape they are in, and see how your rear shock is set up.
Again depending on how harsh the bumps and such are, even mine with all new suspension still finds some of them spots that nothing will cure. I installed progressive 1500 front springs on my 800, and a progressive rear shock and have been happy with the whole set up.
Just got back from a 60 mile jaunt to the north of PHX, trying to stay off freeways. Very windy tho. Ran flawlessly, power and sound are just what I hoped for. Many thanks to the peeps that put the recommendations up for modifying the CVK carb.
One minor comment: the bike hits sharp bumps (sunken manhole covers, poorly patched pavement) very harshly, but the suspension seems smooth and forgiving in most other riding. Is this something I just need to get used to?
Yup does look stock, and if it is loud then it has been changed some how because when I put the sock system on you can hardly hear it idling........
like I said it looks stock, but it has a nice sound. Louder than stock.
can we see a picture of the exhaust then?
looks stock, but I believe a prior owner must have removed any baffles at the back. Just as loud as my Sportster was with a Samson 2 into 1 with a megaphone.
What exhaust set up are you running?
holy crap!
followed the instructions (mostly) except for the crankcase ventilation where I used what I already knew and made this one breathe through a small K&N breather and two hoses that go into the carb side of the main air cleaner.
so put it all back together (with just a few swear words), set the petcock on prime, pumped the twistgrip once, no choke, and within three rotations, vroom, puta puta puta. Vroom when you open the throttle, not guh, then die.
so time for S100, hose, and some clean towels. Maybe go around the block tomorrow, but my confidence in this bike has gone up 800%
yeehaw!
