I use Microsoft Streets and Maps, for the following, and because I was not able to get any other one to do what I like.

On MS Streets and Maps, I can set my start time and my arrival time and any stops along the route. I have not learned how to down load that info into my Garmin either so I normally write my road numbers on my mirrors and change them as needed.....I also make my own route card and have it handy were I can see it and just follow the turns.

Favorite map software??   I think a couple of you use Microsoft Streets & Trips.   Any others??     What are the advantages of using a software package, over just an internet mapping site (e.g. google map)???    I use Mapquest to put together rides, then download them to my GPS.  I like Google Maps a lot better, but can't figure out how to download a route to the Garmin.
