she was smoking some good to burn the grease off and surprising I only used a very little dab of it........oh well, because I looked like a smoker on wheels was not my big deal.......smile from ear to ear and enjoying it......
Ratman glad to hear you were able to get a short run in , at least you were able to burn off some grease ... LOL ...
new contract at work and so am off for the next 12 days........if the snow does not happen then riding is in the forecast, along with a small sun room so that I can keep up with GB, but then I have to buy another bike, own 5 vehicles, and have my family working for me.......man I got a lot to do to keep up the GreenBarns.......lol........
Troll, you know that you can't slip any older pics in on us now. We'll know if it's a new pic by the exhaust tip!
Quote from: 49Reo on April 25, 2014, 15:01:38 PMSo how ya likin' that new exhaust tip? Is it a keeper?
Don't know yet....

You REALLY need to move a little more South...like maybe nearer Niagara Falls...That arctic circle stuff really sucks. Just to rub it in, I got out for a little bit this morning. The sun came out and the thermometer said 50, so off I went. I rode up to lock and dam #6 on the Mississippi. Not a big deal, but at least I got out. There was a towboat locking through with like 20 barges on it. The river stage is at about 10' right now, but we had about 1 1/2" inches of rain yesterday, and they are predicting more for Sunday through Thursday. The river crested, as you can see from the parking lot picture, and where I'm parked was under water yesterday. The river is going back up, so we may get some flooding yet.....That last one is a spur of the moment "selfie"
Forecast is calling for snow this weekend.....
Haven't even taken the cover off mine since last fall.
Ok first ride of the year, went about 12 kms and everything was and is working fine, and sounds really good, other then burning the grease off the new exhaust gaskets......lol at first looked like we were on fire.......all is well and good........
lol and I knew I had posted it someplace...lol.......
That's great news ratman . Sorry fella , I had asked in your other post if you were indeed within spec , I should of checked around the forum before asking .
going to post with pictures of what a simple job the checking really is....
book calls for the following.
in 0.004 ~ 0.006 in
ex 0.008 ~ 0.010 in
both my in's were 0.005
both my ex's were 0.009
so after 34353 kms or 21,346.548 miles they are perfect. The mechanic was really impressed on how clean the inside was and how tight everything was.

What a simple job to do a valve check on the 800, not sure why I was so hesitant on doing it but now that I have been walked through it, to do the check is really easy. Now to learn to replace them if that ever needs doing. GB I'll pm you the cost of this job by a certified Kaw mechanic.....lol......
