Ok ratman picked up the exhaust this evening right after work . I indeed have the mounting bracket , ( thank the angels ) . Tomorrow off to get the washers for that and to order the gaskets unless the shop has them in stock . Now for the exhaust gaskets did you use Kawasaki or did you do the Harley ones I've seen posted and can't seem to find ? If possible a part # would be dandy as I'm going to search the forum myself for this info
well it is kind of an important part to have.......
Yes , agreed ratman . This will be a big help to myself when installing my new to me road house . You know now that I see this write up I don't recall seeing the attachment bracket I'm going to have to check on this ?
Nice write up, Ratman.
couple of hints that I had told to me that I have added to your picture viewing delight. One attach everything loose and then tighten once everything is in place and lines up. Also remember to tighten the nuts on the exhaust studs evenly and not to over torque them.
one of my projects was to swap out my solid heat shields for the serrated ones, which I personally like. Since I parked the bike I have been looking for a set of the chrome ones for sale, I do not have the skill set or work place to manufacture a set as was suggested my bestest buddy from the great state of 0hi0. I tried to buy a set from a person on ebay, and even after my calling them direct did not get anyplace, so I have replaced my solid heat shields. But I did remember all the talk about hard mounting the exhaust system to the frame and so I went and bought some 5/8th inch faucet washers at Canadian tire to use for this job, cheap at $2.65 for 6 of them. They are nice and thick, and decided to add new exhaust gaskets, not sure of how old mine were.
