I currently have an aftermarket exhaust on my 800 and there are occasional backfires. Nothing terrible, but not perfect.
Basically, tell-tale symptoms that may be improved by implementing the afterburner mod.
My question: if I implement the mod, and then decide to go with the stock exhaust, which the seller was kind enough to include, will there be any negative effects or changes that I would (or should) undo in terms of the mod? Aside from running cooler, are there actually any positives in doing the mod on a stock exhaust, or in my case, knowing that I may in fact put it back on the bike?
This is mere conjecture, but one negative I could imagine is if I have the bike serviced I'd think that some of the factory specs might be skewed post-mod and lead to some confusion on the part of the technician.
Thoughts/advice/other?
Thanks in advance.
