I am done my rear shock. I want to thank Tripwire for his earlier post on this subject using the progressive 465 series shock. With his instructions it made my life easier and let me see what I was up against. Thanks buddy. Now I will pass on my experience if it will help anyone. I got my shock from Canada Motorcycle in a couple of days really good supplier.
WARNING The instructions will tell you also, the Preload adjuster locking ring is NOT locked and needs to be locked or tightened.
I emailed progressive a couple of times to get my mind around the preload and Rider sag, and was left with the impression that the preload / rider sag is set for the average rider weight. So after a couple more emails and calls I went with 2 extra turns. Then I had a buddy from the local Honda shop come over and we did it the correct way one evening and seemed to be right. This was a bit of work on the jack off the jack, and then if it is not right the shock has to come out, because unless you use a drift / punch you can not get in there to make the adjustments.
Removal of the exhaust / storage box / electrical box, makes your life a lot easier and because I was going as far as the swing arm it was needed to be done. Removal of the seat also makes it that much easier and only takes a few mins.
