Inspect the plug boots on the wires for any signs of leakage. Rich mixtures are easy to ignite, but as the mixture leans out, the spark demand gets bigger....check the porcelain on each of the new plugs for a possible crack. Put the old plugs back in and see what happens....
Good morning,
I put in new plugs on my 1999 1500 Drifter (was running fine, just wanted to put new ones in). It runs perfect when it's cold (5-7 minutes), then starts misfiring and idling rough. The misfire causes the bike to buck when trying to accelerate.
I pulled the plugs and the spark looks consistent and strong on each. Is it possible that the new plugs threw off the throttle position sensor? Any other ideas on what might be wrong?
Thanks!
Matt
